After an extended vacation, life finally was getting back to normal and I could get back to work on the Hot Rod. I had a new vision of
the road ahead. I started by cutting off several weeks worth of work. The plan was now to Z the frame up front. I wanted to get the
front suspension wrapped up first and then build some rake into the chassis, so the problem I had, has become a positive. I Z'd
the frame up 4 inches and built new rails with 2x4 box tubing, which allowed me to lower, yes lower, the back part of the frame.
With the front rails finished, I could then finish the front suspension.

The front was done accept for the steering. The chassis is looking great. Next I started on the Air Ride Technology Tri-angulated
four link. This frame was actually built 20 years ago with a Corvair front and a Nova rearend. That all had to go. I AM a FORD MAN.
It is hard for me to use Buick drums. The first non Ford parts I ever used on one of my own personal rides, but I wanted that Ol'
Skool look. The replacement rearend is from a '70 Ford Maverick, Thanks to Doug's 4 Wheelers. I haven't decided on air bags or
shockwaves yet, that can be figured out later. I set the engine back in to start making the mounts and get the rest of the frame
buttoned up. Hard to belive Eddie is 1 and a half and Jenna is 5 and a half already, I'm not sure who likes being in the shop most.

All the suspension, engine, and transmission mounts are tacked in place. Once again the frame gets stripped so it can be finish
welded. No shorts this time. Hopefully this is the second to last time to reassemble the chassis. I haven't decided on paint,
powder coat , or plain metal finish on the frame, only time will tell.
The cab is set back on but needs to be modified to fit over the Z'd frame. Next step is to mount the Uni-steer rack. I finally found
some 5 inch drop steering arms and have them on order. When they show up I can get exact measurements for the tie rod
assemblies, then it will be a full roller. I got a steering column from Brad Roorda's '64 Galaxie 500 parts car. Jenna took her friend
Payton for a ride.
Saying farewell to my '79 Mustang.
This was the car I drove to my
wedding and the donor for the 400
horse 289 that is going in the Hot
Rod.
