I am an EBAY JUNKIE. I found this cool suicide door kit and thought I gotta have it. But before I go there I got this crazy idea to cut
up the frame. I took out about a foot right behind the cab and rotated the rear of the frame forward, so the rear section would be
level with the ground. I thought that would help support the box and make it easier to build, but more on the frame and box later. I
also bought a complete 41 Ford front end from a friend Steve Sokol. On with the suicide...This proved to be more of a challenge
then the cowl was, at first this was all the further I could open the door. The cab tappers so much that the hinges were not deep
enough for the door to clear the cab as it swings out. With a lot of thought and a little creativity I got everything to work out. I learned
a very good lesson from this part of the project, Start on the passenger side so you can perfect it on the side that will get more use.
On the right side things went a lot smoother, instead of trying to cut the hinge in cut out the whole piece. This gives you a lot more
working room, then piece it in around the hinge, remember that lesson I just told you about. This was way easier and twice as
fast, and it looks cleaner. That is what this project is for...To learn, got the door hung quicker and still learned another lesson, I
heated up the top hinge and bent it in so it would not interfere with the window travel.
