The All Iowa Hot Wheels Collectors Club was born in 1987 when two brothers, Steve and Rodger
Tscherter looked for people with the same interest of collecting Hot Wheels. With the help of Mike
Strauss, and the Hot Wheels Newsletter, they were able to develop a list of 8 to 10 people in the Iowa
area who collected Hot Wheels. They wrote and invited these people to a casual meeting at a toy show
that was being held at the Best Western Starlite Village, in Des Moines, Iowa. After the show these few
gathered to share their common interest in collecting. This was the beginning of the All Iowa Hot Wheels
Club.
Steve Tscherter was elected as the first club president and the group dramatically grew to around 150
collectors. The group came from all corners of the state from Reinbeck, Des Moines, Counsil Bluffs,
Boone, and Muscatine with early members being: Rick Simms, Steve Miller, Steve Jochems, Kevin
Lockwood, Bryan Rutherford, Bill Benzner, Phil Bowens, Randy Cowden and Dave Steckman. In the
early years the club traveled to network with both Omaha and Minnesota collectors and also aided in
the formation of the Minnesota and Quad City collectors' chapters.
Terry Ball, Scott Galliart and Stacey Craig have acted as club presidents since the early days and we
would be remiss not to include the efforts of our Treasurer, Steve Dippold. In keeping the club running
and functioning smoothly for the last decade.

All Iowa Hot Wheels Custom Contest
We have two categories: Adult - 16 and older and Kids - 15
and younger. We give out prizes for 1st place Adults, 1st
place Kids and the People's Choice witch includes all the
customs entered in both categories. The rules are:
1. You must start out with a Hot Wheels and then ANYTHING
GOES.
2. You are limited to ONE vehicle and a trailer per entry. This
means a car hauler or trailer CAN NOT be hauling a car.
Boats and bikes will be at the discretion on the contest staff.
3. NO Large Scale (1/32,1/24 etc) and NO Dioramas.
The reasoning behind rules # 2 & 3. To keep it fair to
everyone, am example would be a truck with a trailer hauling
a car being judged against a single car. Or a large scale car
or diorama being judged against a single car. APPLES TO
